How it works?

system identifies the climate hazards
the asset is most vulnerable to
irrespective of its location.

Based on the provided location the
system identifies the climate hazards
typical to the location.

Choose disruption level

There are 4 possible disruption levels
you can screen your project for: minor,
moderate, severe and extreme.

Climate risk results

Based on the provided asset type the system performs sensitivity analysis. i.e. identifies
the climate hazards the asset is most vulnerable to.

Historical risk and future risk scenarios
Climate risk analysis by each climate parameter and risk trigger
Disruption probability and what damages and losses it assumes for your project

Comprehensive project assessment

Data-driven insights

Powered by the data from European Space Agency (ESA) GPBP CCS
harnesses the wealth of satellite data to accurately assess climate risks and disruptions to infrastructure assets and investments

Scenario analysis

GPBP CCS simulates different climate scenarios and evaluates their
impact on projects.

SSP1-2.6 represents reductions in GHG emissions in line with the Paris
Agreement and average warming of less than 2 deg C by 2100.

SSP3-7.0 The default scenario for calculating the risk represents a case
in which warming reaches 4 deg C by 2100, due for example to more
lax climate policies in the future or to a reduction of the ability of
ecosystems and oceans to capture carbon.

SSP5-8.5 Represents an extreme worst case in which unabated GHG
emissions continue, leading to an average warming of almost 5 deg C
by 2100.

Customizable parameters

The tool is flexible enough to choose between suggested climate
parameters and risk trigger thresholds.
Each climate parameter is measured by combination of several risk
triggers (e.g. Heat is triggered by max temperature and heatwave,
precipitation by max precipitation and cumulative precipitation etc)

Each risk trigger is measured by risk trigger threshold that is specified in the database. (e.g for max temperature it can be Degree Celsius observed at least once a year and the risk will change accordingly to the temperature.)
